Literature Text
i awoke at sunrise
to the sound of songbirds,
light tick'ling my closed eyes.
i felt fluttering words
whisper against my mind;
things i'm not sure i heard.
from bed i did unwind,
found breakfast and coffee...
and spring springing outside,
which rung the memory
of what i'd heard abed;
i know who spoke to me!
but what was it she said?
oh! now i understand
what echoed in my head:
"spring and summer are my sister's lands.
i'll see you again when fall's at hand"
to the sound of songbirds,
light tick'ling my closed eyes.
i felt fluttering words
whisper against my mind;
things i'm not sure i heard.
from bed i did unwind,
found breakfast and coffee...
and spring springing outside,
which rung the memory
of what i'd heard abed;
i know who spoke to me!
but what was it she said?
oh! now i understand
what echoed in my head:
"spring and summer are my sister's lands.
i'll see you again when fall's at hand"
